What is new in my #makeup bag

I have recently taken a second look at my makeup having been inspired by the youtube channel of Lisa Eldridge, a professional makeup artist. I have loved makeup for a long time and have my own style when it comes to colours and looks. I’ve done a bit of everything from gothic to natural and having watched through a number of Lisa’s videos I wanted to add some new items to my collection.

I decided it was time to add some new concealers and a bronzer. I am lucky that my skin is usually pretty good, having inherited a nice balance between my mum’s oily skin and my dad’s dry skin I sit somewhere in the middle which means that I rarely experience any flare ups or spots which is great. My only real problem is that my skin does get pretty thirsty and needs plenty of moisturiser. However, my skin is far from perfect and when I do get a bit of a break out on the rare occasion it’s super noticeable because it’s so rare and I try my best with my foundation to patch up as best I can, but it has been a while since I have bought a specific concealing product and I thought it was about time – and I ended up with 2 products both from Boots’ No. 7 range.

I have wanted an under eye highlighter style concealer for a while now, despite products like the touche eclat making these style of products ‘famous’ I had never really considered needing one before, however, having realised that my face is not all 1 colour and is not properly covered just with foundation alone I decided to invest in an under eye product to hide the slight darkness under my eyes which most ladies unfortunately have. I decided to go for the No7 Instant Radiance Concealer (far right of pic) in shade II which is a light reflecting lotion to reduce dark circles & puffiness. It’s simple to use, you only have to click the button at the end of the concealer pen to bring product to the brush at the opposite end, dot along under the eye or any dark areas, and blend with fingers or a brush. I am happy with the illuminating effect and easy application of the  Instant Radiance Concealer and look forward to using it going forward.

As I mentioned it’s not often that I have something to hide on my face, which is great, except for when I do and it is very obvious as it’s not a common occurrence. To combat the appearance of spots I went for another No7 product the Match Made Concealer in cool vanilla. Described as an easy-to-apply formulation lasts all day to keep your skin shine free and flawless, this product comes in stick format and can be applied either dabbed straight on, or via a brush which allows you to dab gently to cover any blemishes. With a creamy consistency it was simple to use and apply. I have yet to test how long it lasts, but will be sure to update you!

Now, with summer on its way (hopefully) I felt it was about time that I invested in some sort of bronzing product to help me look a little less pasty now that the weather is picking up. I didn’t want anything particularly sparkly and went for a matt product from Natural Collection, the Suntint Bronzing Powder, in golden glow. I went for the slightly darker shade as I felt that the lighter one was not really different enough from my natural colour. As a bronzer virgin I wanted something easy to use, and along with the Shimmer Brush from Seventeen I can gently sweep the bronzing powder over my face to create a warm glow which is not overpowering, but compliments my skin tone.

I am super happy with the latest additions to my makeup collection, I look forward to using them in the future to both hide my flaws and highlight my skin for summer. What are the latest additions to your collection?
