Review: Eve Taylor Skincare

At some point or another all girls will be informed about the 3 steps of skincare: cleanse, tone and moisturise. I try to keep a good skincare routine, however, busy modern life means that I usually only have time to have a quick cleanse via one of my handy face wipes and apply a liberal amount of moisturiser to my poor thirsty skin.

I was lucky enough to have been sent some products from Eve Taylor after I interviewed her and having experienced a day of feeling a bit skin-grumpy and when I went through my skincare stash the Eye Taylor was uncovered and I knew I had to give them ago. The three products I tried were: Clear Cleanse*, Balancing Toner* & Soothing Moisturising Cream*.

Of course I started with the cleanser which is described as a finely textured oil formulated to gently yet effectively cleanse all skin types. Ingredients include peach kernel and sunflower oil which dissolves makeup and sebum while Argan and Rice bran oil provide age-defying properties.  It is super easy to apply just with hands, gently massaging over the face with dry hands before adding a touch of water to make a emulsion, finally rinsing with warm water. The cleanser has some great fragrance from the sweet orange, mandarin and grapefruit essential oils which reminded me very much of a professional facial. My skin was left feeling super clean which having relied on facial wipes for the last few months felt amazing.

Toner is one of those things that you think you can get away without using, but it was really refreshing to give one a go. The toner from eye taylor is described as a balancing formula with Rose and Neroli to hydrate and tonify whilst maintaining skin’s texture. Again this product had an amazing smell which was relaxing and my skin felt nourished. The toner comes in a spray-bottle which allows you apply a fine mist to the face and neck, or simply apply with a cotton pad if you are adverse to the spray application.

My skin is super thirsty so I need a good moisturiser, especially when my skin is feeling generally not at its best. I have used many over the years and find, ironically, that cheaper moisturisers seem to satisfy my skin far more than expensive ones. The soothing moisturising cream is designed for dry or sensitive skin and claims to be packed full of vital oils to lubricate, soften and protect dry skin with essential fatty acids which nourish and repair skin leaving it supple, hydrated and protected from the environment – something that every London Lady needs! The moisturiser also has some great fragrances from sweet almond oil, sandalwood & eucalyptus.

Having used all three products I am very happy with the result, my skin felt far less grimy and cleaner than it had for a long time. I will certainly try to include the Eye Taylor products in my routine – if only as a weekend treat for my skin when I have more time than during the week. I award the products 4 starts out of 5.
