Top #Chocolate #Advent Calendars for 2014

Nothing beats the excitement of opening the door on the advent calendar to see what delicious chocolate treat awaits inside. Chocolate advent calendars are such a part of our lives these days it seems odd not to have one. This year I will be selecting mine carefully and these are the top options out there to help you choose yours.

Thorntons – Continental Advent Calendar  – £10

1
Thorntons is my father’s favourite brand of chocolate, in fact I think my sister and I buy him something from Thorntons every year at Chrstmas – so I had to include their advent calendar.

The Continental Advent Calendar includes a range of european-inspired chocolates from nutty pralines to velvety truffles, all smothered in Thorntons delicious milk, dark and white chocolate.

Right now it is included in the 3 for 2 offer, so you can treat yourself and the family.

Hotel Chocolat- White Chocolate Advent Calendar – £12.50

2
My mum is a huge fan of Hotel Chocolat and she gives my sister and I one of these amazing advent calendars every year to enjoy. Now I am fussy when it comes to chocolate with my favourite being white – it can be hard to find an all-white calendar so this is a perfect fit for me,

There are 24 fabulous chcolate sculptures in this calendar, including all the traditional characters of reindeer, snowmen, penguins and enchanted Christmas trees made of Hotel Chocolat’s creamy, high-cocoa white chocolate.

If you prefer milk or dark chocolate then you’re in luck as they have these versions too!

Lindt – Lindt Bear Adorable Advent House – £9.99

3
If you haven’t seen the adorable Lindt adverts on tv, whether for their bunnies at Easter or their teddies at Christmas where have you been?

The Lindt advent House this year comes with 3 Bear 10g, 3 Gold Reindeer 10g, 6 Lindor mini truffles, 6 Snowballs and 5 Christmas Napolitans alongside an amazing full sized 100g chocolate shaped novelty behind door 24 for that extra special treat.

Montezuma’s – Organic and Vegan Dark Chocolate Advent Calendar – £9.99

4
If you don’t or can’t have dairy, then this is a great choice for you.

This calendar offers 240 grams of our organic house blended chocolate from Montezuma these chocolates only have a few key ingredients to make sure that the power of the cocoa shines through:  Organic Dark Chocolate 73%, Organic Sugar & Organic Vanilla.

The calendar is also available in milk and white chocolate.

Godiva – Christmas Advent Calendar – £22.00

5
I was lucky to have been invited to Godiva’s recent Christmas launch where I got to try a number of yummy festive treats and I got to sneak a peak at their calendar too!

Godiva offers you a combination of 3 different chocolate sujets in their festive calendar:  milk with praline, white with orange and hazelnut praline, and dark with vanilla cream – all which sound super tasty.

Help for Heros – Skiing Bear Chocolate Advent Calendar – £5.00

6
Help for heroes is a really worthwhile charity which supports wounded, injured and sick Service personnel, veterans, and their families.

My parents have actually been involved with the charity via their love of Archaeology and working with injured veterans working together on Salisbury Plain to undercover the history of the area.

So not only is this a great advent calendar which has tasty chocolate treats but it gives back to those in need too.
