Review: The Riverfront at BFI Southbank

I came across The Riverfront at BFI Southbank with a friend while walking along the southbank in search for some good, simple & tasty food and having checked the menu briefly and spotting the nice sounding burgers we decided to go in. The Riverfront used to be called the Film Café and now is a posh-gastropub style establishment.

We took our seats and ordered our respective burgers, being a vegetarian can sometimes be quite taxing with only a few options, however I found a delicious sounding veggie option. My friend ordered her meat option and we chatted in the modern dining area newly fitted out with comfortable sofas and sipped our drinks.

Our food arrived in good time and we were presented with huge looking burgers on boards with fun pots of chips. My veggie burger was a moist and flavoursome bean and pepper patty with fresh salad and hummus with a soft fluffy bun. The meat burger was really huge with almost a steak of a patty with salad, pickle and blue cheese. We were pleasantly surprised at the size of the portions and tucked in happily, watching people walking past on the south bank through the large floor to ceiling windows.

Overall I give The Riverfront 4 out of 5, having offered us great food, a good atmosphere & efficient and polite service. The only one down side was the price, which was a little high, however we didn’t mind due to the quality of the food and overall experience.
