Review: Lola’s coffee bags

Coffee.. in a bag… are you mad?? Yes, it wouldn’t surprise me if this was your instinctual reaction to the title of this review post but you know what? We have to be open to trying new things (in fact, I have tried coffee bags before) and when it comes to coffee nothing much will stop me from giving it a go although I might draw the line at trying those Kopi luwak coffee beans that have been eaten and pooped out by civets!

Like the rest of my family, I am a coffee lover (we all have matching bean to cup machines, how cute is that?) but sometimes when I really want a cup of coffee I just don’t have the energy to faff about turning on the machine, waiting for it to run the cleaning cycle, then waiting to it to grind the beans and slowly pour out the water. Inevitably the machine’s error lights will blink and it will need more water or will throw a hissy fit because there has been a build-up of coffee grounds inside and it wants me to clean it out. UGH! I just want coffee!

It’s on these days that I think there must be an easier way so when I was offered the chance to check out Lola’s coffee bags I didn’t hesitate and said Yes! Coffee bags are a genius invention offering the convenience of tea bags with the delicious taste of fresh coffee.

They couldn’t be more simple to use, it’s just like making tea! Add boiling water to your favourite coffee cup, add the coffee bag and wait a couple of minutes. Add sugar, milk or cream if you like and enjoy. How easy is that?

The coffee bags from Lola’s, available on The Specialty Coffee Company Website are the perfect combination of Sumatra Gayo, Brazilian Arabica and Indian Robusta coffee beans which results in a delicious cup of coffee.

The Lola’s house blend is a rich, full-bodied, dark blend with notes of smoke, black pepper and caramel, boasting a high caffeine content to deliver that boost you need in the morning (or in my case when I start flagging around 3pm!)

Each coffee bag is individually wrapped to ensure freshness as well as convenience. I plan to pop some of these handy coffee bags into my handbag for when I am working away from home and don’t want to face basic supermarket own-brand instant coffee which I think smells and tastes like gravy!

So, who is The Specialty Coffee Company? The Specialty Coffee Company’s mission is to find the best coffee from around the world and show everyone exactly how great specialty coffee can be. Their coffee experts travel the world sourcing, tasting and grading to select only the finest coffee directly from the grower and continually search for the best brewing methods and solutions, making them available for fast delivery to coffee lovers like me!

I am happy to award Lola’s coffee bags 5 out of 5 for providing me with a quick and simple quality cup of coffee which is perfect for when I only have a few spare minutes during my work day.
