Review: Aura Print Business Cards

Networking, networking, networking. Although it’s not for everyone reaching out to potential customers and connecting with other businesses is key to growing a successful business.

When I decided to go freelance a few years ago one of the first things I did was to design and make my own business cards but since then I have changed my name and have re-branded so when Aura Print got in touch to see if I would like to review their business cards I jumped at the chance.

Aura Print specialises in printed flyers, printed business cards, banners, booklets, and much more. Their main goal has always been to provide high-quality print, that doesn’t break the bank, with friendly expert service.

There are lots of options when it comes to designing your own business cards including folded cards, metallic, die-cut cards, spot UV designs, plastic business cards, cards with coloured cores, mini cards, double thick business cards, cards made from recycled materials, square cards, cards with rounded corners, magnetic cards, waterproof cards and cards with a pearlescent finish.

Don’t worry, there’s no need to feel overwhelmed, there are a few key things to consider when designing your business cards:

  1. Find a template that reflects your brand’s personality.
  2. Find the right typeface and make sure it is legible.
  3. Settle on size and shape.
  4. Include only what’s most important.
  5. Make your logo stand out.
  6. Leave some blank space – people love to jot notes down on the back of cards.
  7. Use special finishing options carefully – don’t go over the top, I know it’s tempting!
  8. Call to action.
  9. Proofread [IMPORTANT!!]
  10. Get them printed professionally – your cards will represent your brand so you want them to be top-notch.

When I came up with the design for my new business cards I wanted to go simple. I chose 250 single-sided standard landscape [85x55mm], 800gsm [lavender] cards with a soft touch feel and regular corners.

My design reflects my new branding – grey and lilac. I used Canva to create my design focusing on key information: my name, skills, and contact details. When I submitted my design the experts at Aura Print told me that the design would work best being printed onto a lavender card (and I agreed) so the sides and back are solid lavender.

I was super excited when my cards arrived, I couldn’t wait to check them out and I was not disappointed. They are beautiful! I think they represent me and my brand really well, clearly show what I do and how to get in touch. They have a professional, quality feel which makes them nice to hold and you can see the printing has not blurred the design at all.

I am very happy with my custom business cards from Aura Print and am happy to award them 5 out of 5 stars. I recommend them for anyone looking to update or create their first business card.
