Quick Crafts: Farmhouse style Up-cycled Clothespeg Basket

Nothing is more satisfying than a quick craft project. It might take only half an hour to complete but that makes it all the more exciting! This is a super quick and easy project which turns some clothespegs and a tin can into a delightful basket where you can store your keys, place keepsakes or even use it as a flower display.

Farmhouse style is an interior design style that showcases practicality, simplicity, and rustic charm. While farmhouse style tends to reflect the aesthetics of rural architecture, it also embraces modern comforts, creating a look that feels both cosy and stylish with simple flourishes and a weathered, worn look.

Modern farmhouse style favours natural materials, including reclaimed wood, stone, wicker, and cotton upholstery, so the wooden clothespegs used in this project are the perfect material – plus you get to reuse a tin can that would otherwise be thrown away.

Supplies:

  • 17 clothespegs
  • Hot Glue Gun & glue sticks
  • Metal can (I used a food tin, that was washed thoroughly)

Instructions:

Start by taking apart all of the clothespins. You can easily slide the wooden pieces from the middle spring.

Start by adding a line of hot glue to the flat side of the clothespin piece. This is the side that will adhere to the metal can. Repeat this process around the entire can. Style and enjoy!
