Review: Ozeri 4x3motion Digital Pocket 3D Pedometer

If you remember back to January one of my New Years Resolutions was to get healthier, and when one is on a mission to get fit and shift some weight there’s nothing so handy as a pedometer to monitor just how active one really is! I was offered the chance to review Ozeri’s 4x3motion Digital Pocket 3D Pedometer* and seeing as I have been trying to get active, decided to give it a go.

As you might guess the 4x3motion, records steps (up to 1 million steps!) but additionally offers information on distance, speed, calories and time. I find the recorded data very interesting, especially the calories burnt information which allows me to judge how many treats I can (or can’t) have based on my walking! The pedometer has 3 modes to record: Today, Split & Total – with a split screen allowing you to see multi-data at one time, with a 7 day memory.

The Ozeri 4x3motion Digital Pocket 3D Pedometer uses the world’s most advanced Tri-Axis technology as the pedometer includes a new 3D Tri-Axis Sensor (X, Y, Z plane detection) which offers the user superior accuracy in any position whilst on the move. Most pedometers do not work accurately unless placed vertically, but this new technology provides increased accuracy in any position, whether up, down, flat, on its side, or at any angle. Additionally this device filters out vibrations, counting only after it feels a number of continuous steps rather than just a random movement.

The 4x3motion not only offers the usual data you might expect from a fitness gadget, but also includes useful built-in features such as Clock, Calendar, Sports Timer & Auto Sleep Mode technology. This is really helpful to keep track whilst on the move, especially the clock, which is an unusual feature for a pedometer. Ozeri state that their product is used by professional athletes, such as professional 100 mile ultra runner Evan Kimber, as well as people like me trying to keep an eye on their activity levels.

The 4x3motion has a sleek, slim design which easily fits in a pocket which is handy as you can just slip it in trousers or a jacket and forget about it for the rest of the day. Another handy feature is the blue backlight which makes the pedometer easy to read despite low light conditions. The Pedometer comes in black or yellow with a battery (lithium), a bonus strap and instruction manual.

I award the Ozeri 4x3motion Digital Pocket 3D Pedometer 4 out of 5 stars for being sleek, simple and for helping me keep track of just how much I move (or don’t move!) on a daily basis.
