Review: Nākd Mixed Case
I was kindly sent a mixed case of Nākd bars* from Natural Balance Foods to review, and having tried a few in the past I was keen to try out some of the newer flavours. Natural Balance Foods is a British company specialising in snack bars and cereal bars made from 100% natural ingredients and are gluten and wheat free (perfect for my husband who suffers from hidradenitis suppurativa and has found that a grain-free diet improves his symptoms). The bars are also vegetarian and vegans friendly, which suits be perfectly!
Nākd bars are made from natural ingredients including a variety of fruits and nuts, they are wheat and dairy free with no added sugars which makes them a healthy alternative to other snack bars out there, with many of the Nākd bars counting towards your 1 of 5 a day.
My favourite bars are the ones which are either fruity or the ‘pudding’ flavours – I simply loved the cashew cookie which was really sweet and satisfying. I have to admit that the chocolate inspired flavours were a bit too bitter for me – but I do have a very sweet tooth, however, my husband was happy to accept the chocolate bars and had no complaints!
I am yet to try the ginger bread and pecan pie, but I am very much looking forward to it! I award the Nākd Mixed Case 4 out of 5 stars for offering a healthy and tasty alternative to the otherwise calorie and sugar-filled snacks available today, and for keeping in mind people who have special diets be that vegan or wheat-free.
