Review: Blueberry Dark Orchid Puppy Collar and Lead

One of the best things about having a dog, along with having a loyal and loving friend, is that your dog is a great excuse for a romp in the countryside. Of course to go on a walk with a dog you need a reliable collar and lead so that you can keep your canine companion under control and keep her safe.

I was really excited to get out and about with Lexi once she had had her jabs and was allowed out in the big wide world so I was well prepared and had purchased a beautiful purple collar and lead from Blueberry pet (via Amazon), a company which provides pet apparel and accessories; pet toys; pet collars, leashes and harnesses; pet crates; and pet cleanup products.

The collar and lead are made from durable high density nylon webbing comes in various sizes and colours. Luckily they are both washing machine safe (on a cold water gentle cycle) so when your pooch goes head first into a giant muddy swamp they can be cleaned easily. The lead has a width of 2.5cm and it is 120cm in length making it a comfortable distance between hand and dog; attaching to the collar with an easy to use clip for a secure fastening.

I purchased the medium collar (2cm width) which is easy to adjust to the correct size (from 37 – 50cm) which is especially important with a puppy like Lexi because she is growing like a trooper and the collar needs to be adjusted as she grows to make sure it is comfortable for her (getting 2 fingers between the collar and her neck). An additional bonus is that the collar buckles are made from ecofriendly plastic and it comes with a metal D ring is chrome coated to add durability.

Both the collar and the lead are standing up well against walks (including paddling in rivers), as well as a grumpy puppy who sometimes pulls me in the wrong direction! I really love the strong nylon webbing which makes me feel confident when out with Lexi and I think the colour is just amazing! I award the Blueberry dark orchid collar and lead 4 out of 5 stars.
