Review: Earth Breeze Laundry Detergent Eco-Sheets

Did you know that 700 million plastic laundry jugs end up in our landfills and oceans every year? Isn’t that just a mind-blowing amount? Plastic can take up to 1000 years to decompose. Something I am trying to avoid is plastics, so when Earth Breeze offered me the chance to try out their solution to this problem I was happy to give them a go.

I have tried more eco-friendly laundry products in the past including purchasing from a refill shop where you bring a container and fill it up with whatever product you need, then pay for the amount you take. This is great, but, I have found it to be a bit messy trying to get the liquid into the bottle or container, and then pouring it out again can be equally messy. It may be the case that I need to find an easier to pour container!

Over the last few months, I have also been trying out a subscription service that sends me laundry products in refillable, returnable and recyclable packs which have been great but I do find the cardboard packaging cumbersome and prefer to empty the capsules out into a box under my sink than keep them in the packaging they arrive in.

Liquid detergent can be up to 90% water, which is delivered in plastic bottles the world over. Earth Breeze wanted to find a better way and invented their Eco Sheets which come in an eco-friendly cardboard package that is much more sustainable, biodegradable, and eco-friendly than plastic.

The Eco Sheets work in all washing machines, high-efficiency machines included and dissolve within seconds in hot or cold water. You can even use them to hand wash items! The Eco Sheets are concentrated, premeasured, and low-sudsing. The super-concentrated sheets (there’s no water included!) will remove the toughest stains.

As someone with sensitive skin, I am glad to report that Earth Breeze has formulated their product for people with sensitive skin, and the sheets are phthalate and phosphate-free. They are hypoallergenic and dermatologist tested. I am lucky that as I have gotten older my issues with detergents has decreased but for those out there who struggle to find a product that doesn’t irritate their skin this might be a good choice.

My favourite features of the Eco Sheets are that it is 100% vegan and cruelty-free and there are no spillages involved! Simply place the sheet into the washing machine with your clothes, or pop into the draw where you would usually pour your detergent. 1 sheet for 1 full load. For regular loads, you can cut the sheet in half – just the right amount with every load. The Eco Sheets are also good value with 40 sheets (enough for 40+ washes) costing £15 as a one-off purchase (38p per wash), or £9 (23p per wash) as part of a subscription. Being environmentally aware doesn’t have to be expensive.

Earth Breeze launched their Buy One, Give Ten Program in November last year. When you purchase Earth Breeze Eco-Sheets they donate 10 loads of laundry detergent on your behalf to a worthy cause. Laundry detergent is one of the top requested items at homeless shelters, homeless outreach, veterans organisations, women’s shelters, animal care shelters, and disaster relief.

Over this Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2021 Earth Breeze promised that for every sale, we would:
🌳 plant 1 tree
🍜 provide 10 meals to those in need
👕 donate 100 loads of laundry detergents

The result has been:
🌳 planted 22, 654+ trees
🍜 provided 226,540+ meals to partner non-profit organizations
👕 donated 2, 226,540 loads of laundry detergents

I have really enjoyed using the Eco Sheets, they are quick and easy to use, take up hardly any space under my skin and leave my clothes feeling and smelling fresh. I chose the fresh scent fragrance but you can also purchase an unscented version. I am happy to award Earth Breeze Eco Sheets 5 out of 5 stars and would happily recommend them to anyone looking for a more environmental and ethical product to help them keep their clothes clean.
