Planning the Perfect Brighton Day Trip From London

Brighton might seem an entire world away from London, but the charming coastal city is only an hour away by train and this makes it a great place for a day trip from the capital. Getting to Brighton

There are hundreds of trains running from London to Brighton each day. There are a few stations where you can get the train directly to Brighton from London, so it should not be too hard to plan your trip. For many people, getting the train from London Bridge to Brighton will be best with the journey taking just over an hour.

Brighton Beach

Once you walk out of Brighton station, you simply need to carry on straight down the road and you will soon see the ocean. You should straight down to the beach to breathe in the sea air, soak up the atmosphere and relax before getting your day started. The beach is large enough to find a spot even on a busy day and there are endless shops, pubs and restaurants on the seafront to choose from.

Brighton Pier

From the beach, you can then head to the iconic pier that originally opened in 1899. Here you can enjoy games, rides, donuts, ice cream, fish and chips and much more all with spectacular views out to sea.

The Royal Pavilion

Brighton’s Royal Pavilion is one of the more striking attractions as it consists of Gothic, Chinese and Indo-Saracenic architecture. Dating back to 1787, the Palace was built for George, Prince of Wales, who became King George in 1820 when he would use it as his seaside escape. There is a nice park surrounding the Pavilion but you can also do a tour of the inside – it is as impressive inside as it is outside!

Street Art

You should also check out the street art in Brighton as there are plenty of impressive displays throughout the city. There is a Bank (replica) near North Laine (a great area for exploring) and Trafalgar Street also has plenty of impressive pieces worth checking out while wandering the streets and soaking up the atmosphere.
