Designers Guild VIP Store Tour

I have to admit that before I was invited to come along to the Designers Guild’s flagship store on Kings Road I didn’t know much about this interior brand so when I received the invitation to attend the Bloggers’ Christmas launch I was happy to visit the store and learn more!

I was met by Hannah the press office assistant manager and we ventured downstairs in the multi-levelled Designers Guild store to have a delightful latte at the mini coffee bar whilst Hannah told me more about the brand and the collections available. The company was established in 1970 by Tricia Guild, it designs and wholesales furnishing fabrics, wall coverings, upholstery and bed & bath collections across the globe.

Headed and owned by brother and sister, Tricia Guild, Founder and Creative Director, and Simon Jeffreys, Group Chief Executive the Designers Guild philosophy is to mix creativity and innovation with quality. “We believe in quality of design, product and service combined with a committed and motivated team.”

Having been introduced to the brand I was given a tour around the flagship store. The first thing that hit me was the extraordinary mix and match of vibrant colours! I have found that some interior brands seem a little afraid of using a bold colour palette and designs preferring instead to have a bright highlight to otherwise natural tones.

There is a vast array of collections for all areas of the home at the Designers Guild from wallpaper and sofas to crockery and children’s toys. Tricia Guild’s vision is to provide everything one might need to enjoy the personal adventure that is your home and I certainly felt as if I was on a journey as I explored and marvelled at the beautiful pieces showcased in the autumn/winter 2013 ranges.

I quickly found myself lusting after the amazing hues of cobalt, amethyst and turquoise from the dazzling cushions, bedding and throws. Being my favourite colour I was definitely taken by the beautiful purples featured across the soft furnishings as well as the tableware.

As for the festive ranges on display I couldn’t help but fall in love with the juxtaposition of tradition and modern with Christmas villages and retro decorations in vibrant and often metallic colours! My favourite pieces were the glass decorations which almost looked like specimen jars which contained festive scenes.

I really enjoyed my trip to explore the wonders at the Designers Guild and recommend this brand to anyone who is tired of being a little too vanilla – this is the place for bold and bright colours, elegant styles and exciting pieces which will make your home feel like a whole new world. To explore for yourself check out the Designers Guild website.

I look forward to getting to know the Designers Guild and their products better moving forward. I really have my eye on some extraordinary wallpaper, feature bedroom wall here I come!
