Creative Stitches & Hobbycrafts show

As you know I have a soft spot for crafts and I recently made my way to the Creative Stitches & Hobbycrafts show which took place at the Excel Centre in East London.

The show features stalls from all sorts of crafty shops from yarn and needles to paper-crafts and even smocking! My friend Fiona and I spent a good hour or two walking around looking at all the different crafts on show and all the products for sale. We were amazed at the giant needles and yarn on a stall which was being used to make rugs, handbags and other large items! I might even consider doing research into this giant knitting/ crochet and may even seriously consider giving it a go!

Other than the stalls there were many different activities available including a Catwalk show, workshops & talks and exhibitions. We particularly enjoyed the Jane Austin costume display which featured well known items of clothing from the movies based on August’s novels. Who wouldn’t love to be within inches of Mr Darcy’s white shirt?

The other exhibit we loved was the incredible underwater cave made from all knitted/crochet items including flora and fauna from the ocean, a rather impressive ‘nessie’ monster and a fisherman. We were very impressed with this incredible display.

Overall Fiona & I really enjoyed the Creative Stitches & Hobbycrafts show which was inspirational and I look forward to starting all sorts of crafty projects in the future.
