Review: Afternoon Tea at B Bakery Covent Garden

Afternoon Tea at B Bakery Covent Garden

Nothing beats afternoon tea. Hands down. Who can resist dainty sandwiches, delightful cakes and delicious scones? I recently had the chance to have afternoon tea at B Bakery in Covent Garden as part of a blogger event and wanted to share my experience here.

Brigit’s Bakery or B Bakery is a French-style salon based in busy Covent Garden which specialises in Afternoon Tea with a French Twist – L’Afternoon Tea including patisserie and savoury bites made in house. It was my first visit and I found myself quite charmed by the chic pastel interior and friendly atmosphere.

The afternoon tea at B Bakery is made up of a range of sweet and savoury items which are made in house. I was very happy to see that they offer gluten-free, halal and vegetarian options for those of us who have dietary quirks. The afternoon usually comprises of:

  • Quiche Lorraine
  • Salmon Rainbow Brioche
  • Cucumber & Mint finger sandwich
  • Chicken & Sundried Tomato Focaccia
  • The Italian Pretzel
  • Signature Tart
  • Trop Chou
  • Summer Verrine
  • Cheese Cake Sablé
  • Mini Cupcake
  • Freshly baked Scones with clotted cream & strawberry preserve
  • Freshly squeezed orange juice
  • Selection of Teas or Coffees

I decided on a cafe latte but most of the group ordered tea which came in beautiful teapots with floral patterns which were just darling and had a fabulous traditional afternoon tea feel to them, adding to the festive feeling.

I certainly didn’t feel like I had missed out as I was provided with a good selection of vegetarian savoury items.  I could tell that a lot of effort and skill had gone into creating each item on my plate, from the soft focaccia with a sprinkle of salt on top to the dainty cucumber and mint sandwich and the still warm veggie friendly quiche.

Of course, the patisserie was the star of the show! I was delighted to find that each item had a different flavour and texture from the soft and citrusy mini lemon meringue pie to the sharp, velvet passion fruit pot and the rich chocolate mini cupcake.

Overall I very much enjoyed my afternoon tea at B Bakery experience. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food artfully crafted and the atmosphere fantastic. I award B Bakery 5 out of 5 stars and would recommend you pop in the next time you are in Covent Garden.
