Review: The Rolling Stone Mobile Pizzeria Salisbury

review
Visiting Salisbury over the August Bank Holiday is a tradition in my family that has gone on for more than 10 years. This year we learnt that the camp site had forged a relationship with a mobile pizzeria who comes along each week to offer tasty Italian treats to hungry campers. Having arrived that day and having spent a good amount of time setting up our tent we decided that a pizza would be a perfect easy dinner!

The Rolling Stone Mobile Pizzeria arrived around 5pm and set up their amazing pizza oven which came in their trailer. I was amazed to see an actual, proper, pizza oven appear – it’s hardly something that would be easy to transport! The pizza man also set up his table ready for rolling out the dough and adding the toppings etc.

The menu was simple but offered personalisation – with a garlic bread (with or without cheese) as a starter, and basic toppings of margaritas, vegetarian or pepperoni – with the ability to add up to 2 additional toppings of you choice.

Obviously as a non-meat eater I went for some garlic bread and a vegetarian pizza which came with peppers, onions, mushrooms, olives, garlic oil and hot chillies. My parents decided to go for the margaritas with extra mushrooms as well as garlic bread each.

Although, like most non-Italians, I have been trained to love thick doughy pizza (in particular with a cheesy stuffed crust!), but I was really happy with my super thin and crispy pizza from The Rolling Stone Mobile Pizzeria. Having been prepared and cooked via traditional methods the pizza was really lovely – even the slightly charred bits made for a bit of extra texture!

I have to admit that although the pizza was really tasty, for me the star of the show was the garlic bread! Again, with thin and crispy dough but this time with a really flavourful garlic oil and melted cheese on top. Delicious!

I am awarding the The Rolling Stone Mobile Pizzeria 4 out of 5 stars for supplying us with a flavourful, rustic Italian feast on the first day of our camping adventure.
