Review: Pure Pet Food Freeze Dried Superfoods

Pure Pet Food Freeze Dried Superfoods Chunky Chicken

Our pup Lexi has had a bit of a hit and miss with food since we got her 18 months ago. After trying a few different options all of which resulted in digestive problems we decided to try and remove gluten from her diet to see if it helped and we have had a positive result!

Most dog foods are crammed full of grains which are cheap to keep costs down, however, dogs aren’t really designed to eat large quantities of gluten and some dogs, like Lexi, are sensitive to it. We now keep her gluten-free with special food and treats so when Pure Pet Food offered us the chance to try out their Freeze Dried Superfoods range we were excited to give it a go.

At the moment the Freeze Dried Superfoods range is made up of two flavours, chicken and fish. They are made up of 100% human quality ingredients and contain no rendered meats or derivatives, no wheat, corn or soya, colours, taste enhancers, sweeteners or any other nasty bits.

The freeze dry technology preserves the fish/meat retaining a real meat texture with zero preservatives and meaning they do not need to be kept in the freezer like other raw dog food resulting in a great shelf life. When it comes to feeding time you need only add warm water to the designated amount of food for your dog’s activity level and you’re ready to go.

We were sent the Chunky Chicken variety (Lexi LOVES chicken), which is made with chicken, egg, carrot, sweet potato, parsnip, spinach coconut and minerals. The ingredients promote brain function, provide antioxidants and is an excellent source of a range of vitamins and minerals for healthy skin, bones, coat and metabolism.

So, how has Lexi got on with her Pure Pet Food Freeze Dried Superfoods? It’s safe to say that labradors will pretty much eat anything they can get their paws on, however, Lexi certainly showed interest in the food as soon as I mixed it with warm water and it started giving off a strong aroma which she found hard to resist!

After a moment of hesitation (what is this weird different food??) she tucked in and happily chased the bowl around on the floor to ensure she got every last bit!

It was clear to see that Lexi enjoyed the Pure Pet Food Freeze Dried Superfoods and I think it is a great option for people wanting to offer their canine pals an alternative to ‘normal’ dog foods which might cause digestive issues.

We award the Pure Pet Food Freeze Dried Superfoods 5 out of 5 stars.
