Review: Nutri Ninja Blender

This year I have decided not to set myself any official New Year’s Resolutions, but instead I am determined to simply live a better life by getting healthier and doing things that make me happy.

This Christmas my parents gave me the Nutri Ninja to help me towards my weight loss goal and so have I have been very impressed. I have used juicers and blenders before in an attempt to get more fruit and vegetables into me but often find that they lack in some way either producing lumpy smoothies or just being too fussy/slow for me to be able to prepare before work in the morning when time is at a premium.

The Nutri Ninja is advertised as a flexible and powerful blender (900-watt motor) which cuts through large chunks of food with ease and I have to agree. I have been surprised at how well it copes with ingredients especially frozen fruit and ice cubes which don’t seem to cause any hassle at all.

The blades, which do not look like any other that I have used in other kitchen devices  before, rotate with speed and precision to create smoothies and soups packed with goodness – taking all the hard out of eating healthily, which is just what I need to make sure I keep on track this year!

What’s in the box

  • 1 x Power Base
  • 1 x 500ml Cup
  • 1 x 650ml Cups
  • 1 x Pro Extractor Blade Set
  • 2 x Sip n Seal to Go lids
  • 1 x Inspiration Guide
  • Instructions Included

Using the Nutri Ninja is really easy – simply line up your ingredients (I tend to include frozen fruit/vegetables, coconut water & protein powder with the occasional treat of a shot of coffee or maple syrup), I would recommend cutting up any big pieces into smaller ones just so you an fit them in the cup! Place all your ingredients in the cup, screw on the blade lid and place upside down onto the base. Erring on the side of caution I usually now turn on the power before pressing the cup down into the base which starts the motor. Blend until you achieve the consistency you desire.

If you’re a home you can pour your smoothie into a glass to serve, or if you’re running out the door to work like me (or want to avoid the extra washing up) simply unscrew the blade-cap from your cup and switch to one of the seal and go lids. I was a little worried to begin with that the lid might not be very good and it might leak all over the inside of my handbag on the commute, but I have been proven wrong as these lids really work and I have not had any smoothie escapage.

I have been really happy with the Nutri Ninja and would recommend it to anyone who wants to lead a healthier life. I award it 5 out of 5 stars and look forward to trying out more recipes moving forward this year! For more information see the Nutri Ninja website.
