Review: Mylee Complete at home Waxing Kit
I have to admit that I can be lazy when it comes to shaving my legs sometimes. It might only take a few minutes longer in the shower but I can go for a while without bothering if I just don’t have the energy. I recently looked for an alternative and came across the Mylee Complete Waxing Kit on Amazon and decided to give it a go.
The Mylee Complete Waxing Kit is described as a salon quality waxing kit which has been tried and tested by professionals. It includes premium quality wax which is perfect for hair removal from all areas of the body, working on coarse, medium or fine hair.
I am usually a razor girl but I have used pre-prepared wax strips in the past so I was curious to see just how easy it would be to transfer to doing it all myself. I went for the starter kit as it seemed to have all the things I would need to get started:
- A wax heater
- Mylee honey soft wax
- Mylee pre-care lotion
- Mylee after care lotion
- Waxing strips
- Spatulas
The instructions which came with the kit were pretty basic and easy to follow. I have to admit I was a little worried about putting the whole pot of wax into the heater, thinking that the plastic pot itself might melt, but I was pleasantly surprised that it didn’t!
Using the wax is pretty simple, there are only 5 steps:
- Place the out of wax in the heating pot inside the wax heater to melt, this takes around 30 minutes.
- Use the Mylee pre-care gel to cleanse the skin you are going to wax and leave to completely dry.
- Use a spatula to scoop up a nut-sized amount of the melted wax from the pot and apply a thin coat to the skin in the direction of the hair growth.
- Place a waxing strip onto the waxed area, wait 5-10 seconds, then pull off in a single quick motion against the direction of hair growth.
- Once you’re finished waxing apply the Mylee aftercare lotion to soothe the skin.
Although my waxing skills need some practice I found the whole experience quick, simple and less painful than I was expecting. The kit really does include everything a waxing novice needs and the products all seem to be of a good quality. I particularly like the Mylee honey wax which has a really nice fragrance!
So far I have been very happy with the Mylee Complete Waxing Kit and think it’s perfect for someone wanting to get started with at home waxing. I would certainly recommend the kit and award it 5 out of 5 stars.
