Review: MessyWeekend Sunglasses

Something that is essential for me when I’m heading out on a bright day is sunglasses. I hate having glare in my eyes when I’m walking my dogs in the countryside, out and about with friends and especially when I am driving!

I only have one pair that I regularly wear and if I misplace them I get really annoyed, so when I was offered the chance to try out a pair of sunglasses from MessyWeekend I jumped at the chance.

MessyWeekend is a fashion-forward eyewear company, with all their products being designed in Copenhagen by a young, authentic, international team that has a strong opinion about fashion. Their mission is to highlight Scandinavian minimalism, backed by our commitment to design and quality.

One thing that really speaks to me is MessyWeekend’s environmental 1 = 2 initiative which means that for every pair of their sunglasses sold, they donate to clean 2 kg of plastic waste out of our oceans.

I was given the choice of any pair of sunglasses from the MessyWeekend range. There is certainly plenty of choice. After browsing for some time I settled upon the LIV sunglasses. I picked the black option, but they are also available in horn, pink, smoke and tortoise.

The LIV style is a vintage-inspired, handcrafted, gradient acetate pair of sunglasses, with sharp angles. I was definitely drawn in by the retro look and the larger, rounded lenses which tend to suit me.

Not only do they look stylish but they are also practical. The LIV glasses come with warm lenses which boast full UV400 (UVA+UVB) protection with a combination of a light transparent and gradient structured acetate frame gives you an exclusive look.

By buying the LIV sunglasses, via the 1 = 2 initiative, you will be cleaning 2KG of plastic in the Pacific Ocean buying this product. which is awesome!

I have found the MessyWeather LIV sunglasses to be a stylish and practical addition to my accessories collection. They are not too heavy or bulky and I have found them to be comfortable to wear even for longer periods of time.

I award these sunglasses 5 out of 5 stars. Let’s hope the weather takes a turn for the better so I can wear them more!
