Review: Hawes & Curtis Men’s Shirt

Everyone loves a beautiful, crisp new shirt. There is something about wearing one that makes you feel a little bit special. So when Hawes & Curtis got in touch looking for me to review one of their range of shirts I jumped at the chance and requested the men’s white and purple stripe classic fit shirt with contrasting collar and cuff for my husband whom wears shirts more often than myself.

Ralph Hawes & Freddie Curtis started the brand in 1913 with the mission to produce top quality clothing for gentlemen. Today they are a global brand offering an huge range of shirts and accessories for contemporary ladies and gentleman with, from professional business shirts, to fashion orientated designs – shirts for every occasion.

The shirt my husband Vlad chose, the white and purple stripe Jermyn Street shirt, has a wide spread collar and is a generous fit shirt (my husband has a dislike of slim-fit) and is designed to accommodate a good, traditional Windsor knot should the wearer wish to include a tie. Made from 2 ply 100’s cotton, the shirt also includes double cuffs allowing the wearer to personalise the look by adding some jaunty cufflinks or silk knots to really stand out from the crowd.

The 2 ply 100’s cotton makes this shirt soft to the touch and comfortable to wear whilst the purple and white stripes along with the contrast collar and cuffs makes this shirt an eye catching addition to any man’s wardrobe. Team with a slick suit for an office look or wear the  shirt open over a tshirt with jeans for a more casual look.

My husband is very happy with the Hawes & Curtis shirt and looks forward to wearing it in the future. He awards the shirt a 5 out of 5 for being of fantastic quality as well as a snappy addition to his clothing collection.
