Review: Fosters Handmade Sea Salt & Caramel Fudge

Fudge has always been thing in my family – mainly because my maternal Grandfather has always had a taste for it and whenever we went on holiday we would always return with bundles of fudge as gifts for him. I also have a sweet tooth enjoying a treat from time to time and on a recent trip to Salisbury with my family I came across Fosters Handmade Sea Salt & Caramel Fudge, from the brand’s Christmas range – a combination I really wanted to try!

Fosters Traditional Foods was founded in the 70’s starting out by selling biscuits to independent retailers in Market Harborough and offers traditional British products from cakes and biscuits to preserves, pickles and condiments with provenance and quality a key focus for the brand.  Since then Fosters has grown it’s ranges and boasts high quality, speciality and traditional foods to indulge in, or share as gifts.

I have to admit that when I first spotted the Sea Salt & Caramel Fudge I was a little unsure about the combination – of course salt is a great seasoning and I have had many salted caramel concoctions, but I had never tried it in fudge format before. Luckily I was able to try a sample piece before buying the product and was captivated with the flavour.

I found the Sea Salt & Caramel Fudge to be creamy and sweet with a tingly zingy salty after taste which I really enjoy as a counterpoint to the sweetness and extremely moreish. I walked away with 2 jars of this delicious sweet treat and my only regret will be eating all of the fudge too fast! I certainly recommend Foster’s Sea Salt & Caramel Fudge to anyone who loves a sneaky sugar hit with a twist.

I award the Sea Salt & Caramel Fudge 5 stars for being delicious and my new guilty pleasure.
