Review: Evans Black Square Toe Riding Boots

Long boots have always been on my wish list, but having chunky calves means that it’s very difficult to find any which will comfortably fit (and do up!). Having just started a job in fashion I was determined once again to search for the perfect knee high boots for winter and found the Black Square Toe Riding Boots from plus sized fashion brand Evans.

Evans has special expertise in designing, fitting and styling the latest fashions to flatter the curvy woman and offer a great range of shoes for the colder seasons including boots, flats and the perfect party heels for those festive parties coming up! All of their shoes are designed to fit wider calves with adjustable features and elasticated panels which help them to mold to the perfect shape to fit each individual.

The Black Square Toe Riding Boots have a traditional zip fastening but with a fantastic elastic panel which allows for a better fit for those of us who don’t have thin stick legs! In addition the boots boast a memory foam sole to offer extra padding, support and comfort when wearing the boots for a long time (for example commuting to and from London and at work all day).

My boots are size 6 in extra wide (EEE), I bought them for the fantastic sale price of £45. At first it was a bit of a fight to get them done up, but the amazing elastic panel soon adapted to the shape of my calves and now it takes mere seconds to slip them on and zip them up. I have been wearing my knee high boots mostly with leggings due to the cold, and have styled them with a number of dresses and tunics.

Evans say that they believe that every woman should feel confident and beautiful in her curves, and they believe that they provide her with the clothing to really celebrate her shape. I really love the shine of the material as well as the buckle detail which really makes these boots look like any other boot out there (not screaming and pointing out to everyone that I need an extra wide size) and doesn’t make me feel self conscious which I feel is really inline with the above mission statement.

I really love my Black Square Toe Riding Boots from Evans and have been wearing them since I bought them. I think they look amazing and make me feel fabulous. I award them 5 out of 5 stars.
