Review: Evans Black PU Waterfall Jacket

Now that the weather has started to change in London and we’re no longer living in Arctic I was recently in need of a jacket which is not quite as dramatic as my big winter coat but still able to keep me warm and dry should the weather decide to throw a wobbly which, let’s face it, it often does.

Having received my winter coat as a Christmas gift from my sister from plus sized fashion brand Evans I decided to return to this brand in order to find myself a Spring jacket. My sister and I visited the Evans branch at Bluewater in Kent and browsed the shop, taking in the large range of fashion items for us curvy ladies.

I spotted the Black PU Waterfall Jacket on the rack and instantly loved it’s look – it has been a long time since I have had a leather (or leather look) jacket and I was really taken with the mix of fabrics and the a-symmetric fastening. The Waterfall shape of the garment ensures a drape which emphasises the bust area and hides the not so flattering tummy area. I grabbed a jacket and slipped it over my jumper to check the fit and was delighted when both my sister and my reflection thought it looked pretty good on me. Of course, I took the jacket home.

I have been using my Black PU Waterfall Jacket for a few weeks now and, although I admit it took me a while to get used to doing up the a-symmetric zip and positioning the collar in the right place, I have grown very fond of the jacket. I particular enjoy that the jacket has functional pockets so it’s perfect for popping out to the shops with my keys and purse without needing a clunky handbag.

The Evans Black PU Waterfall Jacket was £65 and I think that it is a good investment. I hope to use it for a long time and believe it will not only be used for Spring but the PU/ leather look is a classic Autumn/Winter look too.

Overall I am very happy with the jacket. I love the a-symmetric fastening and the contrast between the shiny and matt finishes of the different fabrics. I award the jacket a 5 out of 5 for being comfortable, stylish and good quality. I will certainly be looking at Evans the next time I need a new jacket!
