Review: Barbecue Non Stick Grill Mats

Well, the barbeque season is well and truly upon us once again and in the UK we have to treasure every day with good weather as we never known how long it is going to last!

My family love a good BBQ but one thing we’re not so keen on is having to scrub down the grill after every al fresco meal. Having looked into alternatives my mother discovered barbecue non-stick grill mats on Amazon and decided to give them a go.

The BBQ grill mats are made from 100% PFOA-Free materials with a premium PTFE-Fiberglass non-stick coating with a smooth surface which collects the cooking juices and keeps them away from the grill meaning you don’t need to scrub away after your meal. You need only remove the mat once cool and wipe down with a damp cloth or, get this, chuck it in the dishwasher!

Not only do the mats make it easier to clean up you won’t have to worry about burning your meat as the mat prevents flare-ups caused by grease dripping onto the coals, a benefit my husband (our go to grill master) greatly appreciates, although he does comment that the lack of flare-ups also makes the meat taste less like traditional barbequed fare. 

In addition, any smaller items such as shrimp, fish, or vegetables won’t fall through your grill as well as keeping sauces and marinades on the food instead of dripping onto the coals.  You can also use them to protect vegetarian food from any animal fats already on the grill. 

The mats fit most BBQ grills, including as Char-Broil, Weber, Porcelain, Charcoal and even Infrared Grills, however, they can also be cut to fit your particular grill making them super versatile. 

Since getting the BBQ grill mats we have definitely noticed a difference when it comes to the flavour of the food cooked on the grill as well as the ease of clean up. We award the mats 5 out of 5 stars and recommend them to anyone who is sick of soaking and scrubbing!
