Review: 1byone Smart Scale | Stylish London Living

I recently decided that I wanted to get back on the weight loss wagon and in order to help motivate me I wanted to get a new set of scales as my old ones were getting a bit scruffy and I wasn’t really sure just how reliable they were at tracking weight loss.

Looking for something a bit different this time I discovered the 1byone Smart Scale on Amazon and was seduced by its features so I decided to give them a go. The 1byone Scales not only measures your weight but also Body fat, Body water, Muscle mass, BMI, Basal Metabolic Rate, Bone mass and Visceral fat, giving a well-rounded view of your health.

The scales use the latest advanced BIA Technology to provide highly accurate body composition readings which are very interesting (and sometimes horrifying!) The scales run on 4xAAA batteries.

There are four sensors built into the toughened glass platform which delivers accurate weight measurements, weigh up to 400lbs (180kg / 28st 5lb) in 0.2 lbs/0.1 kg increments which is great for tracking your progress in a unit you are comfortable with.

The 1byone Scales work together with an app (IOS 8.0 / Android 4.3 or later) which your phone connects to via Bluetooth, the app uploads all the information measured by the scales and stores them for reference.

All you have to do is enable Bluetooth on your phone, open the app and step onto the scales – make sure you remove any socks or shoes as the sensors need to be in contact with your skin. After a moment a notification appears telling you there is new data which you accept and it appears on screen.

I really LOVE this feature as it allows me to automatically record my weight and see just how much progress I have made either in a graph or list format. You can have up to 10 users’ profiles so the whole family can use the scales. I have found that the 1byone scales are very easy to set up and use.

It only takes a minute to set up a profile and do your first weigh-in. I haven’t experienced any problems with the connectivity to my phone and haven’t experienced any loss of data. The app is easy to navigate and use. I also think that the 1byone scales are very attractive with their glass platform and LED display giving them a sleek, modern appearance which I am sure would fit into most people’s homes.

Since getting the 1byone scales I have certainly found the motivation to lose weight. It’s great to see the graph slowly going down every morning! I really love the scales and would recommend them to anyone wanting to get back on track with their health. I award the 1byone Smart Scales 5 out of 5 stars.
