Recipe: Thyme and Honey Toasts
Try something different with your cheese selection with this super tasty thyme and honey toast recipe from ‘gastronaut’ Stefan Gates for Castello. I hope it inspires you to give something new a go.
150ml water
2 small slices of bread (a few days old)
2 tablespoons honey
1 teaspoons thyme
Salt and pepper
The toasts are perfectly matched for Castello’s Creamy Blue which I recently reviewed!
Method
- Make sure your bread slices are dry – place in a dry warm place ahead of time
- Mix all of the other ingredients and add to a roasting pan and warm on a low heat
- Dip the dry bread quickly into the ingredients mixture, then place onto a well-buttered baking tray
- Cook the toasts for 30 minutes or until dry
- Remove the toasts from the baking tray and crisp up directly on oven shelf
