Introducing: Nikki Lissoni jewellery

I recently came across a new jewellery designer whose pieces inspire me – Nikki Lisson, whose collection of coin-based items is both beautiful and meaningful with a lovely back story. Nikki comes from a mixed background of Spanish and Dutch descent and was given a gift by her Grandmother on her 18th birthday – a family heirloom necklace with a charming coin pendant with a confusing pattern.

Her Grandmother explained that  “The meaning of this coin – my sweet child – differs from person to person” and taking inspiration from this Nikki started her own range of necklaces, pendants and extraordinary coins allowing the wearers to show a little bit of themselves in each piece – a different wish for each coin. Your wish. What’s inside counts. I love having unique and quirky jewelry to express my personality and these lovely pieces really speak to me.

1
The pieces are made up of 2 elements – the coin itself and the necklace with a ‘coin clamp’. Both elements come in a range of materials from silver, gold and rose gold to natural stones and they come in different sizes to best suit you and your look.

These coins display emotions, motivations and inspirations with the wearer simply selecting the appropriate coin for a particular emotion, with 26 different emotion categories to explore to ensure the right one to represent them and their personality. Categories include motivation, peace, happiness, love, faith, trust, protection, luck, strength, blessing, inspiration, hope, freedom, courage, passion and friendship.

The pendants are available in three sizes, each size is available in all three different colours (gold, silver, rose gold) and the coins can be exchanged to mix and match for a personalised, unique style.

Switching out the coins is a simple 3 step process:

  1. Clamp the pendant between your fingers. Use your thumb nails to open the pendant.
  2. Once the pendant is open, you can easily replace the coin for another one.
  3. Once the coin is firmly in place, press the two parts together until you hear the click.

I really like the personal touches with this jewelry, with each coin having it’s own ’emotion card’ displaying the emotion and giving more information about it. On the other side of the card is a space to write a personal message for yourself or perhaps for a loved one as a gift. If you love having something a bit different to represent who you are then these look like a great way of expressing yourself through a beautiful medium. One of these will definitely be going on my Christmas wish list!
