Foodie Penpal Box

Something new and exciting for Stylish Living London – Foodie Penpals! It’s a way for bloggers and blog readers to get to know each other, via a lovely parcel in the mail every month! You can find more details at thisisrocksalt.com

The lovely Claire over at flakeandcake.wordpress.com sent me a parcel this month and this is what I discovered in my box of goodies:

Pomegranate balsamic vinegar
I look forward to using the vinegar on healthy salads which I have been having more of lately in an attempt to get a bit healthier. I love having oil and vinegar on my salads and I think this one will be particularly great as the pomegranate will give it a sweet edge and I certainly have a sweet tooth!

Perry Court Farm’s dried apple chips
I have had dried apple chips before and will be taking this to work with me to enjoy at my desk at that pesky 3pm snacking urge time!

Bath Ovals
I can’t wait to be enjoying some yummy cheese (one of my foodie obsessions) with the ovals. My husband and I actually have a tradition that on Christmas Eve we enjoy cheese, biscuits and chutneys so having these in the package was a happy treat.

Fudge
My Grandfather adores fudge, almost every holiday my family ever went on when I was young wasn’t complete without a trip to a sweet shop to get fudge to bring home for him. I admit I have a huge sweet tooth and I can’t wait to treat myself to some of this yummy buttery goodness.

Pulsin’ Maple & Peanut protein bar
Maple and peanut is a fantastic combination, and knowing that I want to be hitting the gym more often my foodie penpal included a protein bar. As a vegetarian this is also really helpful as it can be hard getting protein so this is a welcome addition to my box.

Home-made shortbread
Who doesn’t love shortbread? Amazing! It’s once of mine (and my husband’s) favourites. These are even more special because they were hand made by my foodie penpal. With different flavours and toppings these were my favourite item in the box and really have inspired me to get more into baking again. They didn’t last long! So delicious!

My foodie penpal really got it right – I haven’t tried all of these yet but I look forward to trying them all over the coming days! Thanks Claire!
