DIY coconut oil orchid sugar scrub

We all know that spending too much time in the sun can leave you feeling rough. Literally. So, if you’ve been out catching rays in the usual whirl of BBQs, park trips, festivals and holidays this summer, your skin is probably feeling about as soft as sandpaper.

The solution? Two words: body scrub. Combining an exfoliant (to get rid of any dry skin build-up) and a moisturising ingredient (to rehydrate sun-parched skin), body scrubs make a two-pronged attack on dull, dry skin and leave it feeling baby soft in seconds.

But the big hefty jars of body scrubs you see in the shops can come with a hefty price tag. Luckily, making your own is ridiculously easy, just as effective and comes in at a fraction of the cost.

We love this coconut oil orchid sugar scrub from the Just Fab blog. Coconut oil provides the moisture hit while sugar granules make excellent exfoliating beads. But our favourite bit is the coconut orchid essential oil that will leave the delicate scent orchids lingering on your skin for hours. So while your skin will be feeling as smooth as a baby’s bottom – it certainly won’t be smelling like one!
