#Crafty update: Cricut Explore

I wanted to share with you a few of the little projects I have made in the last few weeks with my fantastic Cricut Explore.

The Cricut Explore makes it super easy to design and create funky items for your home or for gifts. Simply choose an image from their library or upload your own. You can also upload your own font which you can find online.

I have mainly been focusing on paper-crafts making cards, all art, name tags etc, but the Cricut can also handle leather, fabric and all sorts of other materials which I can’t wait to try!

I have put some photos of some of the items I have made, my favourite is the smallest and easiest to make – the bookmark corner – which is a little green snake who keeps the pages of my books safe so I can pick up where I left off. I really love how something so small can make such a difference and I can’t help but smile whenever I see him in my book!

As I mentioned, I have been making a lot of cards recently, and the one above was for my husband’s Birthday back in May. I really love the cut-out background which lefts the purple paper peak through to give the card a feeling of depth. I was surprised that the Cricut was able to cut the lettering out and I was able to remove it from the cutting mat without ripping it!

I was super lucky to have recently received another delivery of goodies from Cricut recently including a scoring stylus (thank goodness, some of my handmade cards have been folded a little wonkily!) as well as some more fantastic metallic pens and materials and I can’t wait to get stuck in making more! I will be sure to give you another update soon!
